Keeping Time...

Things are mega busy at the Megadeth camp, with recording well underway for their upcoming album, no name as of yet—at least none I could find. On January 6th Dave Mustaine stated on the band’s website that they were starting to record the drums for their upcoming album. This past Tuesday (Jan 14th) Chris Broderick posted on the band’s website stating that he was going to be starting to record rhythm tracks later that day, now that “Shawn is finishing up the last few songs” he adds. Dave Mustaine stated on the band’s website on December 18th of last year that so far they had nine songs down, and about 16 song ideas, however, according to Mustaine, he is only signed for 12 tracks, these include 11 for the ‘domestic’ market and the usual Japan bonus track.

The Priest has been busy these days as well gearing up for the upcoming Priest Feast Tour. Mind you, The Priest finished a world tour in mid November of last year. This time Priest Feast features special guests (are you ready?) Megadeth! Wait, and it gets better… also appearing Testament! I guess the people able to make the October 2008 Dates in Mexico got a sneak peek at what’s coming starting this February in Dublin. And don’t get your hopes up, as Priest Feast will be rolling through Europe only…(so far?)

Lemmy Kilmister is also out and about—alas, no Motorhead—but with The Head Cat. The band has five West Coast dates throughout January. February seems to be off (and for us to prepare) and brace for Motormarch! Dates for The Head Cat and Motorhead are posted on Motorhead’s website, imotorhead.com. By this point some of you might be thinking ‘Christmas come early!’ and possibly so, but it gets better! (again, depending on your taste)

The sour first

Metallica will be touring this summer (for a change!) behind their new album Death Magnetic. The Metallicats are ploughing through the east coast, having played in Boston last night, next date is Chicago on the 26th Tickets might still be available…summer dates have also been announced, though all are apparently (!) sold out. For more visit the band’s website.

The Beast has announced dates for a third leg of their world tour. Taking the airways less traveled, EdForce One will be making appearances in Asia, Central and South America… no North American dates yet. For more info, you can always visit the band’s website

**Other acts currently on the road include (but are not limited to!)

Children of Bodom! The Crew has some European Blooddrunk Dates up on their website, Bodom kicks off their Blooddrunk Crawl with a show on the 30th of January in Berlin. And as you probably have it figured out… check their website for details.

Brother Firetribe, the side project of Nightwish’s guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, has announced 18 European dates joining PAIN on their ‘European Cynic Campaign’, the dates are all listed on Nightwish’s Website.

Speaking of Nightwish, the band has dates listed starting in March, for the fourth and final leg of their Dark Passion Play Tour. The band has announced some North American dates, however these are mostly cancelled shows from the previous tour legs. To check dates and venues check the band’s website.
