Day one of the
Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest featured Iron Maiden headlining the night with special guests Dream Theater. Maiden stopped in Ottawa on the first leg of The Final Frontier World Tour, promoting their upcoming album release of the same name. After a two-day rest following their sold out Toronto show for a crowd of 16thousand Maiden is back on stage, this time for a crowd numbering around 20thousand and a 44C temperature (humidex at 50%). The scorching heat did not deter fans to flock downtown for Day One of the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest with featured performances by Loudlove, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and
others.
An army of volunteers worked tirelessly through the day braving scorching temperatures brought about by a heatwave that is affecting parts of Ontario and Quebec, talk about timing. their hard work to ensure the show would go without a glitch paid off at the end of the night, you could see it in the smiles of satisfied fans as they left the park.
Iron Maiden and Dream Theater stuck to the
previously reported set lists.
The festival will continue through to the 18th of July with appearances by Hole, Joan Jett, RUSH, Weezer and
many more.
stay tuned for more.
